COMMUNICATING EVENT CHANGES

Tami Loecker, Communications Chair, sends many emails during the month reminding the group of upcoming events in addition to communicating changes, cancellations, and updates. If you are not receiving these updates, make sure she had your correct email address by emailing loeker4@cox.net.

While RSVP's are not required, it is a good idea to let us know that you might attend, especially if you do not consistently check your email. If events are canceled are changed at the last minute, we generally send out a group email and call individuals who have RSVP'ed. If we don't know that you are planning to attend, and if you don't receive the email, you may be unaware of the changes.

If you do not have an email account and are not able to RSVP via signing up on the clipboard at our events, it may be a good idea to call either Tami or the hostess of the event to let her know you are coming and/or to see if there have been any last minute changes. Especially in the summer, when everyone is quite busy, events might be canceled due to lack of participation.

The Smoky Hill River Festival at Oakdale Park is coming up!! Go to www.riverfestival.com for more information. Here are some details from the website:

"Experience the majesty, mystery, and music of the Smoky Hill River Festival. The Festival officially begins with the hometown happenings of the Festival Jam on Thursday, June 12th at 6 p.m., with gates opening at 4 p.m. That's just the beginning as the Festival unfolds in special events, activities, and encounters throughout three and a half days brimming with food, shopping, and entertainment.

Festival buttons can be purchased in Salina at all Dillons and Green Lantern Stores, most banks, selected motels, retail stores, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Salina Arts and Humanities Commission office at 211 West Iron.
